Events:

  • Fastest Kid in Town (6:15 p.m.) We’ve been wondering, just who is the fastest kid in this town, or in Rockcastle County? We’ll find out June 16, when there will be two races. Race one is for kids age 7 and under (1/8 mile or halfway around track). Race two is for kids age 8 – 10 (1/4 mile or one lap around track). Awards presented to the fastest female and male in each division.
  • New! 100/50 (6:30 p.m.)100-yard dash for ages 50+. We are excited about this new event – we want to see who’s still got it!
  • Family Fun Relay Race (6:35 p.m.) We’re looking for groups of four to come out for this fun relay race, which will be somewhat like Family Feud, only there’s running, and no survey questions, chatty hosts, or commercials. Just running. You can be male or female, old or young. We simply ask that you all be related, somehow, someway (we’ll accept in-laws if you will). You’ll each run a quarter mile, passing a baton to the next runner. The fastest family to complete the mile will have something to talk about at the next reunion!
  • Half Hour Charity Chase (7:00 p.m.) Run or walk around the track as many times as you can in 30 minutes, and Rockcastle Regional Hospital will donate $1 for every lap you complete to the charity you choose upon registering (a list of charities will be provided). (Limit 200 participants in the Charity Chase).

Longest Day of Play and Community Health Fair

While you’re visiting, check out the Longest Day of Play and Community Health Fair also held at Rockcastle County Middle School from 5:30-8 p.m. This free event features health education booths, inflatables, karate demonstration, a free light meal, and activities for children of all ages.
