Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a multi-disciplinary program that combines individualized exercise, education, and medical care to minimize symptioms and complications of chronic lung disease. The pulmonary team consists of physicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, dietitians and other specialists working toward rehabilitation goals.
The Rockcastle Regional Pulmonary Rehab Program is located in the Outpatient Services Center with state-of-the-art equipment as well as access to emergency medical treatment if needed. Our pulmonary rehab team consists of a respiratory therapist with 20 years of experience and 9 team members with a broad range of experience and longevity in their fields. Rockcastle Regional is committed to promoting the health of the pulmonary patient.
Pulmonary Rehab Services
Outpatient Program - typically three days-a-week for 8 weeks. The program can often be tailored for patients who have weekday commitments or transportation issues. Our state-of-the art wellness center has piped-in oxygen. Patients with large oxygen needs are able to safely participate in exercise without the concerns of running out of oxygen.
Maintenance Program - available to graduates of the outpatient program. It is designed to maintain strength and endurance, as well as focus on prevention.
Second Wind Club - a monthly support group to provide social support and education and is open to graduates of the Pulmonary Rehab Program.
