Speech Pathology

The Speech Pathology Department at Rockcastle Regional provides services for individuals across the life span with communication disorders, feeding, and/or swallowing problems. The department provides a full range of services including evaluation and diagnosing, as well as treatment and education. Services are provided through acute care, the respiratory care unit, home health and in the out-patient clinic.
The out-patient clinic is open 8:00-4:30, Monday through Friday.
The Speech Pathology Department is dedicated to providing quality services with a focus on establishing or restoring communication, feeding and swallowing. Staff obtains ongoing education to ascertain that treatment is supported by scientific evidence. All plans of care are individualized to help each client reach their maximum potential. All services are provided under the guidance of a physician.
Services include assessment and treatment for:
- Speech production and comprehension
- Voice disorders
- Swallowing and/or feeding disorders
- Delayed speech and language
- Stuttering
- Memory
- Aphasia, apraxia and/or dysarthria
- Augmentative communication system (training)
