Pre-College Health Career Coordinator

 

Department: The Southern Kentucky Area Health Education Center

Description:  The Pre-College Health Career Coordinator is full-time (40-hour week, two year funded) position, responsible for the coordination of recruitment activities with middle/high school teachers, administration, college faculty and health professions education personnel to develop and implement strategies for encouraging students from our 15-county service region to pursue a health career.

Specific program activities include the establishment of educational partnerships, identification of interested/promising youth, organization/implementation of academic enrichment activities in order to prepare students for entry and successful completion of health professional training programs.
 

 

Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Education or Health-related discipline. A minimum of two years of experience in healthcare or education required. Experience working with diverse student populations teaching/recruitment experience with healthcare related experience is preferred.  Applicants must have the ability to perform both on a team and independently. Strong communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills are essential for this position.
