Designed with your needs in mind, the Infusion Center at Rockcastle Regional Hospital is a calming environment that inspires relaxation. Rockcastle Regional Hospital provides infusion services for patients who require frequent infusions of medications including cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, patients requiring intravenous antibiotics, patients with blood disorders, and patients who require intravenous treatments but are not hospitalized.
Infusion therapy is prescribed when oral medication is not possible, effective or appropriate for a particular illness or patient. The therapy involves administering medicine directly into the body through a blood vessel, muscle or the spinal cord. Infusion therapy is commonly used to treat patients with chronic illnesses such as arthritis, cancer, infections, and chronic pain. Rockcastle Regional Hospital works to make our Infusion Center patients as comfortable as possible.
Infusion therapy is the introduction of fluid, blood products and/or medications into a patient’s circulatory system. At Rockcastle Regional Hospital, we provide infusion therapy in an outpatient setting, offering convenience and comfort to patients as well as a highly effective treatment mode for a variety of health conditions from chronic disease to pain management.
The Infusion Center provides a welcome alternative to inpatient care. The Infusion Center is designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible with televisions, Wi-Fi and telephones in every bay, and a soothing décor that is functional without being institutional. Family members are welcome to remain with patients while they receive their infusions. You and your family may also be assisted by a number of support service representatives including dieticians, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, and infusion nurses.
