A Letter to our Patients from Rockcastle Regional Rural Health Clinics

To our patients and community:

As the spread of COVID-19 impacts the health of many communities around us and throughout the nation, and upends our daily living, we want to assure everyone that Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Care Center remains committed to our mission of delivering the highest quality of care to those we serve. Our focus continues to be on the safety of our patients, employees, and our community.

During this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is crucially important patients stay well and manage chronic conditions as well as any new onset of medical concerns or symptoms. While non-emergent procedures and some visits have been rescheduled, many of our care providers have the capability to conduct various visits through telemedicine, or video chat.

If you are in need of seeing one of our physicians or providers, we encourage you to call one of our offices and discuss the telemedicine options available to you. Physicians and providers review all appointments to determine the most appropriate way to meet the medical needs of their patients through telemedicine, face-to-face visits, or by rescheduling for a later date.

If you are in need of emergent medical care, we encourage all of our patients to, just as always, feel comfortable coming to our facility. We remain ready and available to care for you and we discourage any person from staying at home with a medical emergency to “wait it out” out of concern for this virus.

When you come to any of our clinics, rest assured that all precautions and infection control protocols are being followed to keep you safe. Here are some other steps we are taking to ensure your safety:

  • All patients are met by a healthcare professional who provides a mask to wear during your time at our clinic.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting of all patient exam rooms and equipment are performed in between patients using organization-approved products that are EPA-approved to be effective against viruses like COVID-19.
  • Additional cleaning and disinfecting are performed 24 hours a day on high-touch surfaces in all areas such as door handles, hand rails, etc.
  • Safe social distancing seating is established in all waiting areas.
  • Waiting area chairs are disinfected in between patients throughout the facility.
  • All staff’s temperatures are monitored twice per shift and all signs and symptoms of respiratory illness are monitored throughout shifts.
  • All staff are educated on the steps necessary to care for patients or residents who are symptomatic or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, as recommended by the CDC.

Sincerely,

Physicians and Staff of Rockcastle Regional Rural Health Clinics
