Rockcastle Regional Hospital & Respiratory Care Center is pleased to announce its upcoming transition to Epic, one of the nation’s leading electronic health record (EHR) systems, and MyChart, Epic’s secure patient portal and mobile app.

The transition represents a significant investment in the future of healthcare delivery at Rockcastle Regional and will provide patients with enhanced access to their health information while helping providers deliver safer, more coordinated care.

Epic is used by many of the world’s leading hospitals and health systems, allowing healthcare providers to access comprehensive patient information and collaborate more effectively across care settings. By transitioning to Epic, Rockcastle Regional will join a network of healthcare organizations utilizing a common platform to improve continuity of care for patients.

“Our goal is to provide the highest quality care possible while making it easier for patients to access and manage their healthcare information,” said Stephen A. Estes, president and CEO of Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Care Center. “Epic and MyChart will give patients greater control over their health information while helping our providers make more informed decisions through a more complete view of a patient’s medical history and healthcare needs.”

One of the most visible benefits of the transition will be the introduction of MyChart, a secure online portal and mobile app that allows patients to access their health information anytime, anywhere.

Through MyChart, patients will be able to:

  • View test results
  • Schedule appointments
  • Request prescription refills
  • Send secure messages to their healthcare providers
  • Review visit summaries
  • Access portions of their medical record
  • Pay bills online
  • Manage healthcare information for eligible family members

The transition to Epic will also enhance patient safety by providing healthcare providers with a more comprehensive view of a patient’s medical history, medications, allergies, test results, and treatment plans. This improved visibility helps support informed clinical decision-making and reduces the potential for communication gaps between care teams.

Patients do not need to take any action at this time.

Additional information regarding the implementation timeline, MyChart enrollment, account activation, and other important details will be shared in the coming weeks.

Rockcastle Regional encourages patients to monitor the hospital’s website and social media channels for the latest updates regarding the transition.

“We understand that any change can raise questions, and we are committed to making this process as smooth as possible for our patients,” Estes said. “This investment reflects our continued commitment to bringing advanced healthcare technology and exceptional care close to home.”
